In Antigua and Barbuda, CO2 emissions during 2023 have grown 0.017 megatons, 5.56% compared to 2022.
CO2 emissions in 2023 were 0.323 megatons, making Antigua and Barbuda is in the group of low-polluting countries, mainly due to its small population, within the ranking of countries for CO2 emissions, made up of 184 countries, in which the countries are ranked from least to most pollutant.
In addition to its total emissions of CO2 into the atmospher, which logically depend, among other variables, on the country's population, it is convenient to analyze the behavior of its emissions per inhabitant. In the table we see that per capita CO2 emissions in Antigua and Barbuda, have increased in 2023, in which they have been 2.99 tons per inhabitant.
Finally, it is interesting to observe the behavior f CO2 emissions per 1000 dollars of GDP, which measures, for the same country, the "environmental efficiency" with which it is produced over time. In the last period, Antigua and Barbuda, has emitted 0.12 kilos for every $ 1,000 of GDP, the same as in 2022.
In the table we can see the evolution of CO2 emissions, which have grown since 2013, as have per capita emissions and, on the contrary, CO2 emissions per $ 1,000 of GDP.
Total carbon dioxide emissions have also increased in the last five years, as have per capita emissions, then the situation continues to worsen.
