The latest survey data indicate believers share of India population, has dropped to 98.8%. As to Hindu it has also decreased, the previous survey recorded 75.81% of the population professed it and according to the latest data 74.52% follow it.
Islam is the second most practiced religion in India, accounts for about 12.1% of the population.
