In Uganda there were 8 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 10.88 self-harm per 100.000 people.
Of the 1,802 recorded suicide cases in 2001, 1,266 were men suicides and 535 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 10.45 per 100,000 men and for women 4.23 per 100,000 female.
Suicide is a very important cause of death in the world and also in Uganda. However, in Uganda in 2001 there were there were 1,919 homicides, then, homicides are more common than suicides. There were 1.1 homicides per suicide.
