Suicides grow in Trinidad and Tobago

By 2015, suicides in Trinidad and Tobago increased by 2 people to at 198 suicides

In Trinidad and Tobago there were 14.44 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, well above the world average of 9.51 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 198 recorded suicide cases in 2015, 165 were men suicides and 33 were women. Men have a very high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 22.9 per 100,000 men and for women 4.47 per 100,000 female.

Suicide is a very important cause of death in the world and also in Trinidad and Tobago. However, in Trinidad and Tobago in 2015 there were there were 420 homicides, and therefore, number of deaths by murder is far greater than people to take their own lives. There were 2.1 homicides per suicide.
