Peru has a low suicide rate

In 2009 occurred 150 suicides in Peru. This year, 254 fewer people committed suicide than in 2008.

Peru had 0.5 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 10 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Peru has a low suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 150 recorded suicide cases in 2009, 110 were men suicides and 40 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 0.8 per 100,000 men and for women 0.3 per 100,000 female.
