Peru has a low suicide rate

In 1998 occurred 323 suicides in Peru. This year, 31 more people committed suicide than in 1997.

Peru had 1.3 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 14.84 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Peru has a low suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 323 recorded suicide cases in 1998, 194 were men suicides and 129 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 1.5 per 100,000 men and for women 1 per 100,000 female.
