Peru has a low suicide rate

By 1997, suicides in Peru increased by 89 people to at 292 suicides

In Peru there were 1.2 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 14.89 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Peru has a low suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 292 recorded suicide cases in 1997, 176 were men suicides and 116 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 1.4 per 100,000 men and for women 0.9 per 100,000 female.
