By 2001, suicides in Guinea increased by 46 people to at 633 suicides In Guinea, on average, at least one suicide happens every day.

In Guinea there were 7.11 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 10.88 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 633 recorded suicide cases in 2001, 428 were men suicides and 204 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 10.32 per 100,000 men and for women 4.76 per 100,000 female.
