In 2009 around 208 suicides occurred in Botswana, 2 less than in 2008.

Botswana reported 10.66 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 10 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 208 recorded suicide cases in 2009, 156 were men suicides and 53 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 15.47 per 100,000 men and for women 5.04 per 100,000 female.
