Afghanistan reported 6.13 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 9.96 self-harm per 100.000 people.
Of the 1,409 recorded suicide cases in 2008, 1,143 were men suicides and 267 were women. Men have a high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 8.57 per 100,000 men and for women 2.04 per 100,000 female.
