Portuguese CPI increased up to 4.8% year-on-year in May of 2001

The annual variation rate of the CPI in Portugal in May of 2001 was 4.8%, 3 tenths higher than the month before.The monthly variation rate of the CPI (Consumer Price Index) has been 0.8%, and thus the accumulated inflation in 2001 is 2.4%

We must highlight the increase of 5.3% in the prices of Clothing and footwear, until its interannual rate reached 1.1%, which is in contrast to the decrease in the prices of Communication of -0.1%, and an interannual variation of -2.7%.
