The national minimum wage increase in Tunisia

In 2006, the national minimum wage in Tunisia remained fixed at €127.9 per month, that is 1,535 euros per year, taking into account 12 payments per year.

If we look at the minimum salary in Tunisian dinars, which is the official currency in Tunisia, we can see that, this year, it was 206 Tunisian dinars and accordingly, the national minimum wage has been raised 6 Tunisian dinars per month from the previous year, 3%. This increase is greater than the CPI of 2005 which was 1.1%, so workers have gained buying power in the last year.

If we look at the ranking of the national minimum wage that we publish, Tunisia is in 44 nd place, so it is among the countries with the lowest minimum salary of the 81 of the list.
