In 2012, the national minimum wage in Belarus remained fixed at €108.5 per month, that is 1,302 euros per year, taking into account 12 payments per year.
If we look at the minimum salary in Belarusian rubles, which is the official currency in Belarus, we can see that, this year, it was 1,171,610 Belarusian rubles and accordingly, the national minimum wage has been raised 246,090 Belarusian rubles per month from the previous year, 26.59%. This increase is less than the CPI of 2011 which was 108.7%,and so workers, despite the raise, have lost buying power in the last year.
If we look at the ranking of the national minimum wage that we publish, Belarus is in 71 nd place, so it is among the countries with the lowest minimum salary of the 102 of the list.
