In 2018 Cape Verde public debt was 2,085 million euros 2,463 million dollars, has increased 88207 million since 2017.
This amount means that the debt in 2018 reached 124.5% of Cape Verde GDP, a 2.72 percentage point fall from 2017, when it was 127.22% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Cape Verde debt. It has risen since 2008 in global debt terms, when it was 701 million euros 1,031 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 57.6%.
According to the last data point published, Cape Verde per capita debt in 2018 was 3,835 euros4,529 dollars per inhabitant. In 2017 it was 3,658 euros 4,133 dollars, afterwards rising by 177 euros396 dollars, and if we again check 2008 we can see that then the debt per person was 1,424 euros2,095 dollars .
The position of Cape Verde, as compared with the rest of the world, has remained in 2018 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 179 in the list of debt to GDP and 117 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
