In 2017 Cape Verde public debt was 1,960 million euros 2,215 million dollars, has increased 4191 million since 2016.
This amount means that the debt in 2017 reached 124.64% of Cape Verde GDP, a 2.97 percentage point fall from 2016, when it was 127.61% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Cape Verde debt. It has risen since 2007 in global debt terms, when it was 718 million euros 984 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 64.98%.
According to the last data point published, Cape Verde per capita debt in 2017 was 3,647 euros4,120 dollars per inhabitant. In 2016 it was 3,554 euros 3,933 dollars, afterwards rising by 93 euros187 dollars, and if we again check 2007 we can see that then the debt per person was 1,477 euros2,024 dollars .
The position of Cape Verde, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2017 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 180 in the list of debt to GDP and 114 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
