In 2016 Cape Verde public debt was 1,919 million euros 2,124 million dollars, has increased 105111 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 129.49% of Cape Verde GDP, a 3.46 percentage point rise from 2015, when it was 126.03% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Cape Verde debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 766 million euros 961 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 77.73%.
According to the last data point published, Cape Verde per capita debt in 2016 was 3,614 euros4,000 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 3,455 euros 3,833 dollars, afterwards rising by 159 euros167 dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 1,589 euros1,995 dollars .
The position of Cape Verde, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 179 in the list of debt to GDP and 116 in debt per capita, out of the 185 we publish.
