In 2017 Bulgaria public debt was 12,815 million euros 14,477 million dollars, has decreased 1,154 986 million since 2016.
This amount means that the debt in 2017 reached 25.4% of Bulgaria GDP, a 3.6 percentage point fall from 2016, when it was 29% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Bulgaria debt. It has risen since 2007 in global debt terms, when it was 5,297 million euros 7,259 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 16.3%.
According to the last data point published, Bulgaria per capita debt in 2017 was 1,804 euros2,039 dollars per inhabitant. In 2016 it was 1,967 euros 2,177 dollars, afterwards dropping by 163 euros 138dollars, and if we again check 2007 we can see that then the debt per person was 705 euros966 dollars .
The position of Bulgaria, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2017 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 25 in the list of debt to GDP and 85 in debt per capita, out of the 185 we publish.
