Belarus has a very high suicide rate

By 2001, suicides in Belarus increased by 197 people to at 3,972 suicides In 2001, on average 11 Belarusians committed suicide every day.

In Belarus there were 39.92 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, well above the world average of 10.88 suicides per 100,000 people.

Belarus has a very high suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 3,972 recorded suicide cases in 2001, 3,316 were men suicides and 656 were women. Men have a very high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 71.07 per 100,000 men and for women 12.41 per 100,000 female. In spite of this, it is one of the countries with the highest female suicide rate in the world.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Belarus suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 969 homicides in Belarus, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 4.1 suicides.
