In 2005, the national minimum wage in Kazakhstan remained fixed at €52 per month, that is 624 euros per year, taking into account 12 payments per year.
If we look at the minimum salary in Tenges, which is the official currency in Kazakhstan, we can see that, this year, it was 9,200 Tenges and accordingly, the national minimum wage has been raised 2,600 Tenges per month from the previous year, 39.39%. This increase is greater than the CPI of 2004 which was 6.7%, so workers have gained buying power in the last year.
