In 2005, the national minimum wage in Belarus remained fixed at €45.7 per month, that is 548 euros per year, taking into account 12 payments per year.
If we look at the minimum salary in Belarusian rubles, which is the official currency in Belarus, we can see that, this year, it was 134,970 Belarusian rubles and accordingly, the national minimum wage has been raised 6,580 Belarusian rubles per month from the previous year, 5.13%. This increase is less than the CPI of 2004 which was 14.4%,and so workers, despite the raise, have lost buying power in the last year.
If we look at the ranking of the national minimum wage that we publish, Belarus is in 60 nd place, so it is among the countries with the lowest minimum salary of the 78 of the list.
