In 2016 Sweden public debt was 190,559 million euros 210,930 million dollars, has decreased 9,324 10,840 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 41.6% of Sweden GDP, a 2.3 percentage point fall from 2015, when it was 43.9% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Sweden debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 149,665 million euros 187,919 million dollars although it has fallen as a percentage of GDP, when it amounted to 43.7%.
According to the last data point published, Sweden per capita debt in 2016 was 19,344 euros22,090 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 20,291 euros 26,609 dollars, afterwards dropping by 947 euros 4,519dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 16,423 euros21,026 dollars .
The position of Sweden, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 75 in the list of debt to GDP and 162 in debt per capita, out of the 185 we publish.
