This amount means that the debt in 2011 reached 49.14% of Switzerland GDP, a 0.23 percentage point rise from 2010, when it was 48.91% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Switzerland debt. It has risen since 2001 in global debt terms, when it was 174,354 million euros 156,156 million dollars although it has fallen as a percentage of GDP, when it amounted to 59.46%.
According to the last data point published, Switzerland per capita debt in 2011 was 29,596 euros41,090 dollars per inhabitant. In 2010 it was 25,715 euros 34,121 dollars, afterwards rising by 3,881 euros6,969 dollars, and if we again check 2001 we can see that then the debt per person was 24,030 euros21,522 dollars .
