In 2012 Switzerland public debt was 249,541 million euros 320,610 million dollars, has increased 12,2729,668 million since 2011.
This amount means that the debt in 2012 reached 48.23% of Switzerland GDP, a 0.83 percentage point rise from 2011, when it was 47.40% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Switzerland debt. It has risen since 2002 in global debt terms, when it was 201,279 million euros 190,329 million dollars although it has fallen as a percentage of GDP, when it amounted to 63.08%.
According to the last data point published, Switzerland per capita debt in 2012 was 31,202 euros40,327 dollars per inhabitant. In 2011 it was 30,049 euros 41,948 dollars, afterwards rising by 1,153 euros1,621 dollars, and if we again check 2002 we can see that then the debt per person was 27,504 euros26,198 dollars .
The position of Switzerland, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2012 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 108 in the list of debt to GDP and 174 in debt per capita, out of the 183 we publish.
