In 2016 Mexico public debt was 549,146 million euros 607,849 million dollars, has decreased 8,196 10,522 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 58.1% of Mexico GDP, a 4.37 percentage point rise from 2015, when it was 53.73% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Mexico debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 290,699 million euros 365,002 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 37.75%.
According to the last data point published, Mexico per capita debt in 2016 was 4,538 euros5,022 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 4,606 euros 5,111 dollars, afterwards dropping by 68 euros 89dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 2,682 euros3,367 dollars .
The position of Mexico, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 117 in the list of debt to GDP and 122 in debt per capita, out of the 185 we publish.
