In 2016 Germany public debt was 2,140,368 million euros 2,369,173 million dollars, has decreased 17,512 24,994 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 68.3% of Germany GDP, a 2.9 percentage point fall from 2015, when it was 71.2% of GDP.

According to the last data point published, Germany per capita debt in 2016 was 26,046 euros28,820 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 26,259 euros 29,333 dollars, afterwards dropping by 213 euros 513dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 19,331 euros24,619 dollars .
The position of Germany, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 139 in the list of debt to GDP and 172 in debt per capita, out of the 185 we publish.
