Number of suicides falls in Kyrgyzstan

In 2015 occurred 439 suicides in Kyrgyzstan. This year, 46 fewer people committed suicide than in 2014. In Kyrgyzstan, on average, at least one suicide happens every day.

Kyrgyzstan had 7.44 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 9.51 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 439 recorded suicide cases in 2015, 343 were men suicides and 96 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 11.73 per 100,000 men and for women 3.16 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Kyrgyzstan suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 305 homicides in Kyrgyzstan, there are more suicides than homicides. For every homicide there were 1.4 suicides.
