Suicides increase in Kuwait

In 2015 occurred 154 suicides in Kuwait. This year, 7 more people committed suicide than in 2014.

Kuwait had 3.68 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 9.51 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 154 recorded suicide cases in 2015, 119 were men suicides and 35 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 5.08 per 100,000 men and for women 2.23 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Kuwait suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 61 homicides in Kuwait, suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2.5 suicides.
