In 2016 Greece public debt was 314,897 million euros 348,559 million dollars, has increased 3,2242,758 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 179% of Greece GDP, a 1.6 percentage point rise from 2015, when it was 177.4% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Greece debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 225,648 million euros 283,324 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 103.6%.
According to the last data point published, Greece per capita debt in 2016 was 29,020 euros32,042 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 28,902 euros 31,853 dollars, afterwards rising by 118 euros189 dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 20,447 euros25,753 dollars .
The position of Greece, as compared with the rest of the world, has remained in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 184 in the list of debt to GDP and 173 in debt per capita, out of the 185 we publish.
