In 2016 Gabon public debt was 7,992 million euros 8,847 million dollars, has increased 2,6362,905 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 61.97% of Gabon GDP, a 20.61 percentage point rise from 2015, when it was 41.36% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Gabon debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 3,202 million euros 4,021 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 39.6%.
According to the last data point published, Gabon per capita debt in 2016 was 4,037 euros4,449 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 2,775 euros 3,079 dollars, afterwards rising by 1,262 euros1,370 dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 2,216 euros2,783 dollars .
The position of Gabon, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 122 in the list of debt to GDP and 119 in debt per capita, out of the 185 we publish.
