In 2015 Costa Rica public debt was 20,201 million euros 22,413 million dollars, has increased 5,5452,943 million since 2014.
This amount means that the debt in 2015 reached 42.38% of Costa Rica GDP, a 3.12 percentage point rise from 2014, when it was 39.26% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Costa Rica debt. It has risen since 2005 in global debt terms, when it was 6,005 million euros 7,471 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 36.52%.
According to the last data point published, Costa Rica per capita debt in 2015 was 4,202 euros4,662 dollars per inhabitant. In 2014 it was 3,080 euros 4,093 dollars, afterwards rising by 1,122 euros569 dollars, and if we again check 2005 we can see that then the debt per person was 1,425 euros1,775 dollars .
The position of Costa Rica, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2015 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 80 in the list of debt to GDP and 123 in debt per capita, out of the 184 we publish.
