In 2015 Costa Rica public debt was 20,413 million euros 22,648 million dollars, has increased 5,6202,996 million since 2014.
This amount means that the debt in 2015 reached 40.83% of Costa Rica GDP, a 2.48 percentage point rise from 2014, when it was 38.35% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Costa Rica debt. It has risen since 2005 in global debt terms, when it was 6,014 million euros 7,481 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 37.47%.
According to the last data point published, Costa Rica per capita debt in 2015 was 4,246 euros4,711 dollars per inhabitant. In 2014 it was 3,109 euros 4,132 dollars, afterwards rising by 1,137 euros579 dollars, and if we again check 2005 we can see that then the debt per person was 1,427 euros1,777 dollars .
The position of Costa Rica, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2015 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 72 in the list of debt to GDP and 120 in debt per capita, out of the 185 we publish.
