In 2016 Barbados public debt was 4,515 million euros 4,997 million dollars, has increased 224237 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 107.89% of Barbados GDP, a 1.22 percentage point rise from 2015, when it was 106.67% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Barbados debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 1,683 million euros 2,113 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 48.43%.
According to the last data point published, Barbados per capita debt in 2016 was 16,124 euros16,862 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 15,324 euros 15,595 dollars, afterwards rising by 800 euros1,267 dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 6,142 euros6,567 dollars .
The position of Barbados, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 173 in the list of debt to GDP and 159 in debt per capita, out of the 185 we publish.
