By 2015, suicides in Turkmenistan increased by 6 people to at 539 suicides In Turkmenistan, on average, at least one suicide happens every day.

In Turkmenistan there were 9.35 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 9.51 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 539 recorded suicide cases in 2015, 401 were men suicides and 138 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 14.06 per 100,000 men and for women 4.75 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Turkmenistan suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 63 homicides in Turkmenistan, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 8.6 suicides.
