Islam is the Turkmenistan's top religion, around 89% of the population. A very hight percentage of population, 99%, consider themselves religious.

The latest survey data indicate believers share of Turkmenistan population, has remained to 99%. As to Islam has not change, the previous survey recorded 89% of the population professed it and according to the latest data 89% follow it.

Christianity is the second most practiced religion in Turkmenistan, accounts for about 9% of the population.
