In 2016 Latvia public debt was 10,038 million euros 11,111 million dollars, has increased 1,1921,296 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 40.1% of Latvia GDP, a 3.8 percentage point rise from 2015, when it was 36.3% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Latvia debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 1,712 million euros 2,150 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 9.9%.
According to the last data point published, Latvia per capita debt in 2016 was 5,098 euros5,638 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 4,493 euros 4,942 dollars, afterwards rising by 605 euros696 dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 775 euros954 dollars .
The position of Latvia, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 70 in the list of debt to GDP and 130 in debt per capita, out of the 185 we publish.
