In 2016 The Gambia public debt was 1,013 million euros 1,121 million dollars, has increased 127138 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 116.11% of The Gambia GDP, a 5.9 percentage point rise from 2015, when it was 110.21% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of The Gambia debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 733 million euros 921 million dollars although it has fallen as a percentage of GDP, when it amounted to 140.55%.
According to the last data point published, The Gambia per capita debt in 2016 was 509 euros520 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 445 euros 464 dollars, afterwards rising by 64 euros56 dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 493 euros589 dollars .
The position of The Gambia, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 178 in the list of debt to GDP and 39 in debt per capita, out of the 185 we publish.
