In 2014 Afghanistan public debt was 977 million euros 1,298 million dollars, has decreased 48 63 million since 2013.
This amount means that the debt in 2014 reached 6.38% of Afghanistan GDP, a 0.37 percentage point fall from 2013, when it was 6.75% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Afghanistan debt. It has gone down since 2004 in global debt terms, when it was 10,076 million euros 12,533 million dollars , and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 243.44%.
According to the last data point published, Afghanistan per capita debt in 2014 was 31 euros41 dollars per inhabitant. In 2013 it was 34 euros 45 dollars, afterwards dropping by 3 euros 4dollars, and if we again check 2004 we can see that then the debt per person was 419 euros522 dollars .
The position of Afghanistan, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2014 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 4 in the list of debt to GDP and 2 in debt per capita, out of the 184 we publish.
