Tunisia - Intentional self-harm

In 2015 occurred 614 suicides in Tunisia. This year, 6 fewer people committed suicide than in 2014. In Tunisia, on average, at least one suicide happens every day.

Tunisia had 5.44 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 9.51 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 614 recorded suicide cases in 2015, 364 were men suicides and 250 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 6.34 per 100,000 men and for women 4.29 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Tunisia suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 332 homicides in Tunisia, there are more suicides than homicides. For every homicide there were 1.8 suicides.
