In 2015 occurred 1,644 suicides in Morocco. This year, 21 more people committed suicide than in 2014. In 2015, on average 5 Moroccans committed suicide every day.

Morocco had 4.82 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 9.51 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 1,644 recorded suicide cases in 2015, 1,067 were men suicides and 577 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 6.12 per 100,000 men and for women 3.35 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Morocco suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 431 homicides in Morocco, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 3.8 suicides.
