Of the 1,207 recorded suicide cases in 2015, 903 were men suicides and 304 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 11.15 per 100,000 men and for women 3.75 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Ecuador suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death.
