In 2015 around 1,857 suicides occurred in Cambodia, 19 less than in 2014. In 2015, on average 5 Cambodians committed suicide every day.
Cambodia reported 12.36 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 9.51 suicides per 100,000 people.
Of the 1,857 recorded suicide cases in 2015, 1,212 were men suicides and 645 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 15.89 per 100,000 men and for women 8.28 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Cambodia suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 268 homicides in Cambodia, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 6.9 suicides.
