By 2015, suicides in Myanmar increased by 99 people to at 2,323 suicides In 2015, on average 6 Burmese committed suicide every day.

In Myanmar there were 4.54 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 9.51 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 2,323 recorded suicide cases in 2015, 1,429 were men suicides and 893 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 5.57 per 100,000 men and for women 3.46 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Myanmar suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 1,302 homicides in Myanmar, there are more suicides than homicides. For every homicide there were 1.8 suicides.
