In 2016 , the national minimum wage in Hungary remained fixed at 351 € per month, that is 4,212 euros per year, taking into account 12 payments per year.
If we look at the minimum salary in Hungarian forints, which is the official currency in Hungary, we can see that, this year, it was 111,000 Hungarian forints and accordingly, the national minimum wage has been raised 6,000 Hungarian forints per month from the previous year, 5.71%. This increase is greater than the CPI of 2015 which was 0.9%, so workers have gained buying power in the last year.
If we look at the ranking of the national minimum wage that we publish, Hungary is in 37 nd place, so it is among the countries with the lowest minimum salary of the 95 of the list.
