In 2014 Maldives public debt was 1,527 million euros 2,029 million dollars, has increased 182243 million since 2013.
This amount means that the debt in 2014 reached 66.31% of Maldives GDP, a 2.25 percentage point rise from 2013, when it was 64.06% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Maldives debt. It has risen since 2004 in global debt terms, when it was 342 million euros 426 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 35.38%.
According to the last data point published, Maldives per capita debt in 2014 was 4,465 euros5,932 dollars per inhabitant. In 2013 it was 4,003 euros 5,310 dollars, afterwards rising by 462 euros622 dollars, and if we again check 2004 we can see that then the debt per person was 1,184 euros1,469 dollars .
The position of Maldives, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2014 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 136 in the list of debt to GDP and 125 in debt per capita, out of the 184 we publish.
