Greece national debt goes up

In 2016 Greece public debt was 315,012 million euros354,738 million dollars, has increased 3,2834,235 million since 2015.

This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 180.5% of Greece GDP, a 3.8 percentage point rise from 2015, when it was 176.7% of GDP.

If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Greece debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 225,730 million euros 283,339 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 103.6%.

According to the last data point published, Greece per capita debt in 2016 was 29,254 euros32,943 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 28,907 euros 32,503 dollars, afterwards rising by 347 euros440 dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 20,454 euros25,674 dollars .

The position of Greece, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 190 in the list of debt to GDP and 179 in debt per capita, out of the 191 we publish.
