In 2013 Benin public debt was 1,744 million euros 2,316 million dollars, has increased 49139 million since 2012.
This amount means that the debt in 2013 reached 25.42% of Benin GDP, a 1.40 percentage point fall from 2012, when it was 26.82% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Benin debt. It has risen since 2003 in global debt terms, when it was 1,106 million euros 1,251 million dollars although it has fallen as a percentage of GDP, when it amounted to 31.95%.
According to the last data point published, Benin per capita debt in 2013 was 169 euros224 dollars per inhabitant. In 2012 it was 169 euros 217 dollars, afterwards has remained stable, and if we again check 2003 we can see that then the debt per person was 144 euros163 dollars .
The position of Benin, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2013 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 30 in the list of debt to GDP and 14 in debt per capita, out of the 184 we publish.
