Slovenia has a very high suicide rate

In 2022 occurred 407 suicides in Slovenia. This year, 31 fewer people committed suicide than in 2021. In Slovenia, on average, at least one suicide happens every day.

Slovenia had 20.63 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, well above the world average of 9.18 suicides per 100,000 people.

Slovenia has a very high suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 407 recorded suicide cases in 2022, 325 were men suicides and 82 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 32.11 per 100,000 men and for women 9.05 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Slovenia suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 13 homicides in Slovenia, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 31.3 suicides.
