The minimum wage goes up in Türkiye

In 2001, the national minimum wage in Türkiye remained fixed at €224.2 per month, that is 2,690 euros per year, taking into account 12 payments per year.

If we look at the minimum salary in Turkish liras, which is the official currency in Türkiye, we can see that, this year, it was 167.9 Turkish liras and accordingly, the national minimum wage has been raised 27.9 Turkish liras per month from the previous year, 19.93%. This increase is less than the CPI of 2001 which was 39%,and so workers, despite the raise, have lost buying power in the last year.

If we look at the ranking of the national minimum wage that we publish, Türkiye is in 22 nd place of the 65 of the list.
