If we look at the minimum salary in Pakistani Rupees, which is the official currency in Pakistan, we can see that, this year, it was 16,000 Pakistani Rupees and accordingly, the national minimum wage has been raised 6,000 Pakistani Rupees per month from the previous year, 60%. This increase is greater than the CPI of 2013 which was 3.7%, so workers have gained buying power in the last year.
