The national minimum wage increase in New Zealand

In 2001, the national minimum wage in New Zealand remained fixed at €629.8 per month, that is 7,558 euros per year, taking into account 12 payments per year.

If we look at the minimum salary in New Zealand dollars, which is the official currency in New Zealand, we can see that, this year, it was 1,330.2 New Zealand dollars and accordingly, the national minimum wage has been raised 38.4 New Zealand dollars per month from the previous year, 2.97%. This increase is less than the CPI of 2000 which was 4%,and so workers, despite the raise, have lost buying power in the last year.

If we look at the ranking of the national minimum wage that we publish, New Zealand is in 12 nd place of the 65 of the list.
