In 2017 Netherlands public debt was 416,067 million euros 470,031 million dollars, has decreased 18,138 10,591 million since 2016.
This amount means that the debt in 2017 reached 56.7% of Netherlands GDP, a 5.1 percentage point fall from 2016, when it was 61.8% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Netherlands debt. It has risen since 2007 in global debt terms, when it was 261,567 million euros 358,478 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 42.7%.
According to the last data point published, Netherlands per capita debt in 2017 was 24,358 euros27,517 dollars per inhabitant. In 2016 it was 25,420 euros 28,137 dollars, afterwards dropping by 1,062 euros 620dollars, and if we again check 2007 we can see that then the debt per person was 15,944 euros21,851 dollars .
The position of Netherlands, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2017 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 112 in the list of debt to GDP and 169 in debt per capita, out of the 185 we publish.
