In 2014 Libya public debt was 12,181 million euros16,182 million dollars, has increased 10,33513,730 million since 2013.
This amount means that the debt in 2014 reached 36.39% of Libya GDP, a 32.68 percentage point rise from 2013, when it was 3.71% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Libya debt. It has risen since 2004 in global debt terms, when it was 1,106 million euros 1,375 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 4.16%.
According to the last data point published, Libya per capita debt in 2014 was 1,946 euros2,585 dollars per inhabitant. In 2013 it was 295 euros 391 dollars, afterwards rising by 1,651 euros2,194 dollars, and if we again check 2004 we can see that then the debt per person was 201 euros250 dollars .
The position of Libya, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2014 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 37 in the list of debt to GDP and 81 in debt per capita, out of the 190 we publish.
