In 2016 Jamaica public debt was 14,600 million euros 16,161 million dollars, has decreased 1,022 1,172 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 115.16% of Jamaica GDP, a 5.05 percentage point fall from 2015, when it was 120.21% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Jamaica debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 11,518 million euros 14,462 million dollars although it has fallen as a percentage of GDP, when it amounted to 121.98%.
According to the last data point published, Jamaica per capita debt in 2016 was 5,067 euros5,606 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 5,552 euros 6,074 dollars, afterwards dropping by 485 euros 468dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 4,272 euros5,188 dollars .
The position of Jamaica, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 176 in the list of debt to GDP and 130 in debt per capita, out of the 185 we publish.
