In 2016 Guyana public debt was 1,500 million euros 1,661 million dollars, has increased 126136 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 48.31% of Guyana GDP, a 0.41 percentage point rise from 2015, when it was 47.9% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Guyana debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 1,091 million euros 1,370 million dollars although it has fallen as a percentage of GDP, when it amounted to 94.16%.
According to the last data point published, Guyana per capita debt in 2016 was 1,940 euros2,148 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 1,788 euros 1,984 dollars, afterwards rising by 152 euros164 dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 1,466 euros1,841 dollars .
The position of Guyana, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 95 in the list of debt to GDP and 91 in debt per capita, out of the 185 we publish.
